Athletic Trainer

Role Summary:

Responsible for administering and directing appropriate direct care services aimed at assessing and treating the athletic population. The ATC is responsible for providing athletic training evaluations as directed by primary or team physician as outlined by Tennessee Athletic Trainer Law. The ATC is also responsible for the development, administration, and supervision of the sports medicine program for their assigned school (s). They evaluate athletes readiness to play and provide participation clearance when necessary and warranted. Collaborates with physician in order to develop and implement comprehensive rehabilitation programs for athletic injuries.

• Willingness to accept and give constructive criticism.
• Ability to perform minimal computer skills pertaining to electronic medical records.
• Ability to work as a part of a team to provide athletic training services under the direction of a physician or physical therapist.
• Implement selected components of interventions.
• Obtain data of interventions provided and make modifications in selected interventions provided and make modifications in selected interventions either to progress the athlete to ensure client safety and comfort.
