JOB DESCRIPTION: Performs all aspects of echocardiography examinations with a high level of competence and professionalism to all types of patients regardless of age, under the direct supervision of the echo lab Manager. All facets of procedures, including but not limited to TEEs (Transesophageals) and TTE (echocardiograms). This position ensures that accurate and complete documentation and communication with Cardiologist regarding clinical history and direct observation from all technical personnel. Must demonstrate good organizational skills in order to maintain efficient work flow and adaptability in accommodating emergency and add-on exams. Required to participate in on-call and holiday coverage for the modality as part of the essentials of the job requirement.

Performs duties and conducts interpersonal relationships in a manner designed to project a positive image of the department and the hospital. Works with supervisor/manager and other members of section or department to promote a harmonious work environment. Ensures that all contacts with patients, the public, physicians and other hospital personnel are carried out in a friendly, courteous, helpful and considerate manner. Answers telephones in a prompt and courteous manner. Displays concern and provides assistance or explains procedures as appropriate to callers or in face-to-face situations. Dedicated to meeting the expectations and requirements of internal and external customers. Works with customers to identify problem areas and recommend solutions.

POSITION QUALIFICATIONS (including required licenses/certifications, education and job knowledge/experience):

Graduate of an approved Program of Ultrasonography/Imaging Program.

ARDMS (AE) or CCI (RCS). Current BLS Certification required.

Qualifications:

Education Required: Graduate of accredited Imaging Program

Preferred: Associate Degree

Experience Required: At least a year of experience

Required: Must be registered within 24 months of graduation (and 12 months of hire); BLS

Preferred ARDMS or CCI
