Fountain Valley Regional Hospital is proud of the full range of quality services we provide. Since 1971, we have dedicated our efforts to meet and serve the medical needs of our growing community. We were the first hospital in Orange County to offer residents an accredited Chest Pain Center and a Thrombectomy Receiving Center certified by The Joint Commission. We are one of only two certified Pediatric ICUs in Orange County and the only hospital in Fountain Valley and Huntington Beach with a Level III Neonatal ICU. Job Summary
Codes and Abstracts charts in a timely manner.
Codes in accordance with current principles of ICD-9-CM and CPT guidelines. Demonstrated ability to accurately identify the correct DRG. Abstracts data into hospital abstracting system in accordance with departmental and OSHPD guidelines.
Qualifications:
A.Minimum Education: High school graduate or equivalent preferred. ART, RRA or ART/RRA eligible preferred.
B.Minimum Experience: One year experience in coding and abstracting systems and experience with DRGs and the prospective payment system is desired. Health records background and familiarity of policies and procedures relating to records and their content preferred.
C.Preferred Skills and Abilities: Medical terminology, anatomy, ICD-9-Cm and CPT coding principles, legible handwriting, typing ability and familiarity with computers are essential.
CCS or RHIT required with minimum of 3-5 years Inpatient Coding in an acute care environment
