UW-Madison Department of Family Medicine and Community Health is seeking Family Medicine physicians to provide patient care and teach at our community clinics in and near Madison, WI.

Clinics with Open Positions: 

• Beaver Dam Clinic (rural site)
• Cottage Grove Clinic 
• Deforest-Windsor Clinic (OB preferred)
• Sun Prairie Clinic (OB optional)
• OMT Consult Service (combination role or part-time position)
• Float Pool

Duties will include:

• Provide full spectrum family medicine skills with opportunities to do procedures in clinic, and OB care if applicable.
• Opportunity to teach medical students in the clinics, as well as residents in the hospital setting if providing OB care.
• Each clinic offers mentorship (with 4-13 physicians at each clinic).
• Additional opportunity to apply for teaching options within the medical school.
• The support of an academic center provides additional growth opportunities, professional development, and committees to promote personal growth.
• Work-life balance is a priority. Shared call pool (outpatient clinic call all over the phone, and OB deliveries at Meriter Hospital if practicing OB).
• Clinics are located in growing areas, with an opportunity to build your patient panel quickly.

The University of Wisconsin Department of Family Medicine and Community Health (UW DFMCH) is a large, tier-one clinical department in the UW School of Medicine and Public Health (SMPH). Ranked fifth in the nation among academic family medicine departments, DFMCH and its associated UW Health clinic operation has over 750 employees, including 171 faculty and an additional 261 clinical adjunct faculty located throughout the state. The DFMCH is committed to patient care while also offering outstanding educational and research programs. Over 150 residents and more than 400 medical students train in the department each year. In FY2021, our physicians and residents practicing at 17 clinics throughout the state managed over 338,000 patient visits—an integral part of the department’s success.  Research funding from the NIH and other state, federal and private sources exceeded $7.8 million in FY2021 and supported several areas of interest including major research projects in pain management, addiction and substance misuse prevention and treatment, and infectious disease surveillance.

Wisconsin medical license is required prior to start date.
Certified by or eligible for certification by the American Board of Family Medicine.
