Salary Range: $190,000 - $260,000 (based on experience)

Roles and Responsibilities:
Provides comprehensive primary care services in a community health center - ambulatory clinic setting.
Works independently using his/her best professional judgement while practicing medicine within his/her scope of practice.
Renders care following recognized standards of care and evidence-based guidelines.
Assesses patient needs for specialty referrals, diagnostic imaging, and in-patient care and make appropriate referrals for service.
Provides patients and family members with counseling and education regarding health maintenance, disease prevention, diagnosis, treatment, and need for follow-up as appropriate.
Performs minor outpatient procedures and ambulatory treatments and diagnostics in accordance with approved privileges.
Responsible for accurate, timely, and complete documentation in patient records in accordance with health center policy.
Provides consultation to other clinic providers either in person or by telephone.
Provides supervision and maintains a Collaborative Practice Agreement with health center Nurse Practitioners, as needed.
Participates in shared “call” system with other providers, on a rotational basis, to provide continuous coverage for health center patients on a 24/7 basis.
Participates in Quality Assurance/Quality Improvement and Risk Management activities and initiatives. Utilizes reports from health center QA/QI/RM monitoring of clinical quality measures to provide leadership for continuous quality improvement on the practice team.
Qualifications:
Graduation from an accredited medical school with a Doctor of Medicine or Doctor of Osteopathy degree
Proof of successful completion of a residency training program at an accredited healthcare institution
Current, valid, unrestricted license to practice medicine in the State of Virginia
Current, valid, unrestricted DEA license
Basic Life Support (BLS)
Three years of primary care experience preferred
FQHC experience preferred
