An Advanced Practice Provider (APP) Nurse Practitioner (NP) is a licensed independent practitioner who holds a master’s or doctoral degree. The APP NP Level 1 functions autonomously and in collaboration with health care professionals and other individuals to assess, diagnose, treat and manage the patient’s health problems/needs in accordance with privileges approved by the credentialing committee to provide high quality, cost effective care to patients.
