DescriptionSUBFUNCTION DEFINITION: To conduct independent and directed scientific studies and research in support of a Principal Investigator's researchSCOPE: Provides basic husbandry care to laboratory animals; maintains animal inventory records and room maintenance records.REPRESENTATIVE RESPONSIBILITIESAnimal CarePerforms daily work involving the handling of conventional and genetically engineered animal models with varying health status. Animals may be recovering from surgical or invasive procedures and may have various biosafety levels. Performs routine euthanasia on laboratory animals according to the American Veterinary Medical Associations (AVMA) Panel on Euthanasia.Environment of Animal CareChanges
